How To Avoid A Bad Haircut!
We all want the best cut each time. But what happens when you get a really bad haircut? Unfortunately a bad haircut does not improve much with time. As the hair grows out the bad cut will look uneven. The opposite also is true.A great haircut will last longer. Perhaps you go in to have your hair cut intending to return the following month. But something happens and you are out of town longer then expected. You finally return home and your style still exists but is longer.
Bad haircuts happen for various reasons:
- Lack of skill on the part of the person cutting the hair
- Poor explanation of desired style
- Misunderstanding each other during the conference
- Misuse of cutting tools
What to do when you get a bad haircut?
- Explain your displeasure to the Hairdresser who is responsible. If possible speak to a Manager.
- Make plans to visit a competent hairdresser who can make the needed adjustments to the cut.
- Learn from the experience and control the situation so that it does not happen again.
- Accentuate the positive and minimize the negative by accessorizing more jewelry and adjusting face makeup to match the cut A great hairdresser is worth keeping and worth the money you pay.

Hi Giddles... My Mom & I really enjoyed your tips & hope you'll have an answer for us on this problem...I have been using a product called "NEXUS" Simply Siver-colour toning shampoo to help with the yellowing that she hates so much & I know I'm going to be in the same boat soon, so am interseted in your advice. At 84 she isn't interested in my washing her hair every day but I'm afraid that's the only way this product is going to show us results. I could be wrong so we'll anxiously wait to see whay you think. Thanks Greatly. Marcy & Pearl
Hi Marcy and Pearl,
Nexxus Simply Silver Colour Toning Shampoo is a great product. I always recommend following the directions on the product. But I also have had clients in the past that have said they needed to use the "Silver" shampoos more frequently. I recommend using it until you get the desired tone. But I add that if you wash your hair once a week, perhaps you should use another shampoo to clean the hair and then use the "Silver" shampoo to get the desired tone. The only reason you could not use this frequently is if using it causes the hair or scalp to be brittle or dry. This product has wonderful reviews and some people have results with it that they have not had with other products. So great choice!

Hi Giddles;
Loved your explanation of what to do when you get a bad haircut. It sure shows how important it is to have good communication with your hairdresser before you get the cut.
Thanks Shirley
Hi Giddles, Thank you for setting that matter straight about the "Simply Silver" for helping with the yellowing in grey hair! I understand what you meant now about "drying the hair out." I was thinking Mom's scalp was drying out just because of the winter temps in the house. But now I see that my washing her hair too often with the product could be the culprit. That was a good tip about washing her hair with another kind of shampoo first, then apply her "Simply Silver" after, especially if she'll only get it washed once a week. Just a side thought...would it help if I allowed the product to sit on her hair wrapped in a towel for a few minutes to see if it would work better, before I rinsed it out? We value your advice. Marcie & Pearl
Marcy,
To answer your question about the "Simply Silver" shampoo, I do not recommend keeping it on for any long period of time. If you want more results simply repeat the shampoo. And don't forget conditioner.
